Job functions

As a multi-functioning waste management, metals trading and recycling solution provider, we employ and multitude of staff in a variety of roles and with a variety of skills. Each of these represent an integral part of the business and enable a smooth delivery of all services to our clients.

See below for a full run down of the staffing roles that we have across our six sites.

Administration Staff

  • Sales department - maintain the answering of phones, the input of customer orders and the production of reports that our customers require for recycling purposes, general up keep of paperwork.
  • Transport department - take care of the transport office, its administration and its drivers.
  • Finance department - organise purchase and sales ledgers, resolve customer queries and ascertain missing information and payments.

Supervisory Staff

  • Sales department - oversee the smooth running of the department via liaison with other departments, dealing with brokers and producing reports for external and internal use.
  • Finance department - oversee the running of the purchase and sales ledgers, ensure payments are made to all customers and non payments are followed up by legal action.

Yard Operatives

  • Waste - deal with all incoming and out going produce by processing it on entry and exit to the yard through use of the machinery to its maximum potential.
  • Scrap - deal with customers bringing in material over the weighbridge, organise the different grades of metal and then clean and cut the metal ready for distribution / exportation.


  • We have supervisors for both areas of scrap and waste, to oversee the safe working of the yard operatives and to oversee the loading of vehicles for product distribution and exportation.

Business Development Managers for Scrap and Waste

  • Maintaining the existing business standards whilst seeking new business opportunities.

Operations Manager

  • Reports to board level and oversees the transport and yard operation by analysing cost effectiveness changes that can be made to the business, looking at better ways to achieve the maximum efficiency of transport and servicing our customers and the operations in the yard.

Health & Safety Manager

  • Ensures the company is compliant with all Health and Safety legislation and requirements by undertaking regular risk assessments, ensuring safe work instructions are in place for existing site rules and machinery and ensuring all training and certifications are up to date.

Office Manager

  • Deals with all day to day issues of the business including yard transport, customer queries and office issues.

HR & Payroll Manager

  • Ensures all policies and procedures are met, deals with disciplinary, sickness absence, holidays, staff issues and training, new starters and leavers employment law. Collates weekly information to run the monthly payroll and advises managers on all staffing issues and works with them to provide solutions to these.

Weighbridge Manager

  • Deals with customers that bring scrap metal in for trade and has a thorough knowledge of all prices and grades. Oversees the running of the department, weighing our own and third party vehicles in and out of our sites, cash handling and reconciling cash paid out to customers.

Weighbridge operative

  • Ensures vehicles are weighed correctly and accurately and completes tickets for vehicles weighing in and out. They also undertake cash handling and gain relevant documentation from customers that come over the weighbridge.

Workshop Manager

  • Looks after the fleet of vehicles and plant machinery, making sure all inspections are dealt with and all defects are solved. This manager also organises the maintenance and servicing of our vehicles.

Workshop Assistant

  • Works on all vehicles and plant machinery during breakdowns and carries out preventative maintenance.
