The
new legislation being introduced is there for a reason. Responsible
companies realise that dealing with their waste efficiently
makes sense, both for good practice and for the future of
our environment.
Recycling Wood
As members of the Wood Recyclers'
Association, Glazewing is dedicated to operating to the highest
environmental standards and endeavours to recycle as much
wood as it can. Our wood is subject to a separation process
as it arrives on site. Glazewing use specialist machinery
to process the wood, including our industrial shredder that
can turn wood into wood chippings, and can shred all wood
up to the size of a whole tree trunk. Our processed wood chippings
can be used in various areas including the manufacture of
chipboard and as a weed suppressant by the horticulture industry.

Recycling Inert
Glazewing are specialists in the handling
of inert waste. Soil, rubble, sand and concrete all go through
our waste separation process. To lessen the impact on the
environment, Glazewing use specialist screening machinery
to sort all types of inert waste and maximise the recycling
opportunities. Our recycled soil is supplied as topsoil to
householders and also used in major landscaping, schemes such
as golf courses and motorway verges. The reclaimed rubble
is used in road preparation and the concrete and sand is used
by the construction industry. Glazewing offer containers in
numerous sizes for all types of inert waste. For small domestic
projects to major commercial construction, Glazewing can arrange
a bespoke, professional service to meet your requirements.
Recycling Plastics
All plastics received by Glazewing
are separated and sorted. It is then either baled or ground
for recycling by specialist machinery. The industrial and
commercial sector is of great importance. Off-cuts are recycled
from plastics factories and the manufacturing sector while
plastic film, often used to wrap goods, is usually collected
and sent for reprocessing. Glazewing have secure outlets for
any form of single or mixed grade plastics, including HDPE,
PVC, LDPE, PP, Acrylic and Nylon. All grades of plastics are
reclaimed, instead of going to landfill. A collection service
is available. We supply containers in all sizes for all grades
of plastics.
Recycling Cardboard
The Packaging Waste Regulations, which
came into force in 1997 and saw targets set for the first
time in 1998, have been a strong influence on recycling in
the UK over the past few years. Glazewing recycle all cardboard
from our waste transfer station. All cardboard is separated,
sorted and baled by our experienced operatives. The bales
of card are then pulped and recycled. As a result of this
activity Glazewing is saving precious landfill space. A collection
service is available.
