Get paid to dispose of your scrap metal
Bring your unwanted items along to the Weighbridge in West Dereham, Norfolk for safe disposal and get paid on the day – either by cheque or electronic transfer. Please bring your driving license and bank debit card to get paid for your scrap metal.
Scrap metal prices change regularly and we are able to buy a wide range of items, so contact us for the latest prices. We can accept both ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal at our Weighbridge and our prices are always competitive.

What are you opening times?
Our weighbridge and scrap metal recycling centre is open every day from 08.00 – 16.30.
What types of recycling will you accept?
We accept all metals, ferrous (magnetic) and non-ferrous (non-magnetic e.g. Copper, Aluminium etc) and Cars.
Please note we do not accept, Fridges, Freezers, Televisions, Sealed Canisters e.g. Gas Bottles
Is there a designated route to your site?

Do you hold a waste management licence?
Yes, we hold a waste management licence and a scrap metal licence.
Will I need a waste carriers licence to bring material into you?
If you are bringing your own metal for recycling then you do not need a waste carriers licence, however if you are transporting material which is not your own then you will require a licence.
A waste carriers licence is easy and inexpensive to obtain. See the Government website for details on how to apply.
What is the best time to arrive?
Any time! For larger loads please do give us a call to book you in to guarantee a quick turn around on site.

Could you collect from me?
We have a large range of options to collect material from your site, from small battery boxes to skips / containers, all the way up to 44 Ton bulkers for large collections. Please advise what you are looking to dispose and we can offer the best solution for you.
Will I be charged for anything if you collect my scrap metal from me?
You won’t be charged for the skip or haulage (unless previously agreed) of your scrap metal. You will however be charged for any items we mentioned above that we cannot accept as we will have to dispose of these items.
How much will I get paid?
Each type of metal carries a different value, depending on what type of material you have. Some examples below:
- For iron recycling, the heavier or thicker the gauge of your iron, the more we will offer.
- Non-Ferrous metal recycling prices are determined by the London Metal Exchange and change daily so please call for latest prices on 01366 500162.
Will I need PPE on site?
Yes. Please wear Hi-Viz jackets, steel toe caps boots and a hard hat at all times when on site here at Glazewing (if you do not have a Hi-Viz you can purchase one at Glazewing and this will be taken off your payment for your scrap).
Will I get a weighbridge ticket showing the transaction?
When recycling your scrap metal at Glazewing you will be issued with a weighbridge ticket showing the all the details of the transaction.
How will I get paid?
You can choose to be paid by BACS, cheque or we can upload a payment onto your BREAD card.
Please note that is now illegal to buy your metal for cash.
Can I deliver an old car to you? And if so will you deal with the end of life paperwork?
You can deliver a car to our site and we will sort out all the paperwork for you! Find out more about end of life vehicles here (As an ATF we are able to accept End of Life vehicles).
Am I allowed to bring my children onto site?
Please note, Glazewing is a working scrapyard, with large, potentially dangerous machinery around. If you have no option but to bring your children with you to the site we would ask that they remain in your vehicle at all times for their own safety.
